I went and checked SmallDeadAnimals, out of boredom, and discovered a delightful, but definitely NSFW blog called "One D At A Time". The blog made the rounds on message boards and blogs because the author held a huge party featuring drinking and debauchery and her house became trashed and destroyed. She asked the party participants to help her out and send her a few dollars to help pay for the damage.
I find it hysterical, the way that everybody is calling her names, and the way that Tracy Egan just does not care what anybody thinks of her. While I am way too straight-laced to ever live her kind of life, being a straight-laced mom of two who can barely handle a whole beer all by herself, I have to admire anybody that is as refreshingly honest as she is. I will be checking up on her and laughing myself silly.

Tough love?
A parent reacts to their teenage boy smoking pot by selling his Christmas present on Ebay. As a radical leftist feminazi I offer my heartfelt sympathies to the poor child that is being deprived of the video game he earned. It's child abuse I tell ya!
Hey, at least it wasn't beer. That stuff is really bad for you.
On a slightly more serious note, I would ask this parent why his son smoking pot bothers him so much. While it is true that smoking pot is an illegal activity, it is a fairly common behavior that is unlikely to have longterm health effects. But as a parent, you absolutely have the right (and the responsibility) to set limits on your childs' behavior. If you would react the same way to your child drinking beer or smoking cigarettes, then it seems pretty reasonable to me.
Personally, my biggest parenting concern is the continued pornification of young girls. Bratz dolls and strip-pole Barbie piss me off to no end. Pot-smoking is barely a blip on my parenting radar screen.

If you need a laugh
Have fun watching Rick Mercer make Americans look stupid.
It really isn't that hard. When I was in the States a few years ago I had an argument with a guy that insisted that Canada doesn't have highways or cops. I got tired of arguing with him so I smiled and nodded. I found this over at Pharyngula.

Random Hilarity
I want to make it perfectly clear that I am not a fan of Rosie O'Donnell and I never watch the View. The only reason I know about her dispute with Donald Trump is that I hear about it on the radio on my way to work. I am officially switching stations. The infatuation that some people have with the petty bickering of celebrities is such a bore. I just don't care. So allow me to be a hypocrite and show you this:
Best goth poetry ever.
Why can't they kiss and make up?
Best goth poetry ever.
the dump truck is at it again
“she’s depressed from looking in the mirror”
hurtful 2 know he doesnt find me attractive
as it has been my goal
for so long
to give a bald billionaire a boner
Why can't they kiss and make up?

Stellar Parenting Moment
My kid was annoying me today (when are kids not annoying?) and I snapped at them and made the following statement:
"FUCK OFF.....PLEASE."
My kids took time out from annoying me to laugh hysterically at my idiocy. Good times were had by all and my children learned a valuable lesson: Do as I say, not as I do.
"Talk about taking manners too far."
-Quoth my eldest brat.
Hey Hannah stop reading over my shoulder.
Brat.

Naked Principal Found With Sex Toys Watching Gay Porn In Office
EWWWWWW! The headline says it all.
I wonder if he will face the same fate as Ted Haggard. Will he go and pray away the gay?
I bet the trouble started with that first hit of a marijuana cigarette.
Seriously though, if you wanted to come up with a sordid, made-for-television, parent's-worst-nightmare scenario, could you do any better than a gay, sex-toy loving school principal dealing crystal meth out of his office? My imagination fails to come up with a more titillating scenario.
I wonder what kind of severance package he gets. I hope that my man is right when he said, "Let's hope it's at the neck."
As authorities stormed into a middle school office to arrest an alleged meth-dealing principal inside, they found an even more surprising scene inside.
Sources said 50-year-old John Acerra, of Allentown, was naked and watching gay pornography when they arrived at Nitschmann Middle School in Bethlehem to arrest him on Tuesday.
Acerra also had sex toys, drugs, cash and a pipe in his school office when authorities stormed his office, the sources added.

Chong for Drug Czar
I found this via Pete.
Tommy Chong is SO COOL! How could a stonermom resist? It simply can't be done.
Tonight is a special night because I am announcing (to
my friends) that I am running for the office of Drug
Czar of America. Now i realize that the office of the
Drug Czar is an appointed one by the winning party in
the White House but because my chances of being
appointed are very slim and almost non-existant I am
actually going to campaign like every other politician
and ask for your votes. Now your votes will be
symbolic but the media will pick up on this so your
votes will be counted and reported over every media
outlet so actually your votes will be noticed.
Tommy Chong is SO COOL! How could a stonermom resist? It simply can't be done.

How did this guy get to be a Mayor?
Lauzon was quoted in The Times Argus' Saturday edition saying, "People who are dealing crack and dealing heroin have zero social value and should be put to death."
Saturday night he reiterated that belief.
"What social value do they have? They are dealing crack and heroin to young people, knowing full well what the effects will be," the mayor said. "What purpose do they serve in society other than to destroy lives, to destroy families?"
First he makes this insane statement, then he goes on to promote legalization of marijuana.
He went on to say that by legalizing marijuana, fees on the production and sale could be used for drug prevention and treatment efforts to get at the core problem – drug usage in Vermont.
Lauzon acknowledged that his views would be controversial, but he said the state needs to confront the fact that Vermont is losing the war on drugs.
Did John Walters hire this guy to make all drug policy reformers look bad?

THC spider?
This video is a lot funnier for those of us that grew up watching CBC television and fondly remember the Hinterland Who's Who clips. They were the highlight of my dorky, nerdy youth. I also thought David Suzuki was pretty cool too. Well what are you waiting for? Quit reading my corny intro and watch the movie!
Also, go and read the excellent LTE that my partner in crime wrote in response to this story.
For some reason the Star Phoenix saw fit to publish his LTE and rejected the one I sent. It reads as follows:
What was the editorial board of the Star Phoenix thinking? That's what I want to know.

For some reason the Star Phoenix saw fit to publish his LTE and rejected the one I sent. It reads as follows:
The Star Phoenix does such a wonderful public service offering us such educational material as the Dec. 21 article “Legal Hallucinogen concerns police”. I now know that there is a perfectly legal hallucinogen, that will help me find God, sold at very low prices at a local head shop known as BOBHQ.
I am very glad that the police have let the public know about the scourge that is salvia divinorum. There is not yet any clear scientific evidence of the safety of this substance. We must not let the public become guinea pigs. Clearly, eradicating this menace must be a priority for the Saskatoon Police. The prohibition of drugs has been such a resounding success that adding one more substance to the list will be a small matter and easily accomplished. There is no excuse for allowing this substance to fall into the hands of children. I am shocked, horrified and appalled that this action has not already been taken.
PS: BobHQ is located at 733 Broadway Ave.

How to Make Drugs Boring, In Five Simple Steps
I was thinking about this idea, that keeping drugs illegal and unregulated adds to their appeal to young, foolish impressionable teenagers. I agree with that whole heartedly. I recall being treated to an anti-drug presentation put on by the RCMP when I was in the seventh grade. The RCMP lectured us about the dangers of drugs that noe of us were exposed to like marijuana and LSD. I impressed the hell out of my classmates by declaring that "I know what marijuana smells like!" whilst strutting around. Meanwhile, nobody said anything about the legal drugs that we were experimenting with at the ripe old age of twelve, such as tobacco and alcohol. Maybe they had the same mindset as groups such as The Drug Prevention Network of Canada, that all use of illegal drugs is abuse and some use of legal drugs is acceptable.
The RCMP came and lectured us impressionable young'uns and brought us glass cases full of drugs and drug paraphanelia to admire. I saw little tabs of acid with pictures of cartoon characters on them, proof that drug dealers were targetting children. I saw joints rolled up in pretty, colorful paper. I listened as the police informed us that passing a joint to your friend was trafficking and would result in us being put in jail for a very, very long time. This all had the effect of making illegal drugs seem very cool!
I do believe that encouraging teenagers to stay drug free is a worthy goal. I think that there should be a sixth step added to the "How to Make Drugs Boring" List.
6. Show Respected Adults Using Drugs*
If most teachers were seen using a bong, it wouldn't seem quite so cool and rebellious anymore.
In light of that fact, maybe I should make a youTube movie of me smoking a joint. There is nothing more uncool than the sight of me smoking. If that doesn't stop the little punks from smoking weed, nothing will.
* Assuming that I am a respected adult, of course.

I guess I was wrong after all
The police busts are working! All the pot sellers are giving up and getting real jobs. Also, the cops arrested the parents and girlfriend of the Winnipeg shooter after discovering 3.15 kgs of marijuana in the home.
Looks like I have to get a new cause, seeing as I was totally wrong! The police were right to raid that house THERE WAS 3.15 kgs of merry-jooo-wanna in the house! They did absolutely no wrong! The cops are winning the war on some drugs. I better shut down this blog, hide my head in shame and blog about my pets instead.
