Thoughts about militant fringe groups

I read the following quote, that was written by a judgmental, misinformed wingnut afflicted by reefer madness, over at DrugWarRant and it got me to thinking.

"Students for Sensible Drug Policy is a militant fringe of the drug legalization movement. As parents, we would treat membership in SSDP as firmly as we would treat drug use. Stop the behavior and resign from the group or pay your own tuition."

Why do wingnuts get away with calling people militant when there is absolutely no basis for this accusation? If there were radical groups of jackbooted drug legalizers shooting up legislators with their AK-47's, you can be damned sure that we would have heard about it by now.

I already know the answer to this question. It works. Rush Limbaugh did a great thing for wingnuts when he coined the term feminazi. Calling radical feminists militant feminazis works really great at marginilizing them and their cause.

If you know of a militant man-hating group of feminists or drug legalizers, be sure to clue me in. I would love to see that story.

Militant prohibitionist thugs that bust in your door at dawn are nothing new and are not worth criticizing by the Drug Warriors. The hypocrisy is astounding.
